Greenheart Global's solution to this overwhelming waste? Create two versions of their eco-friendly hangers, with the introduction of their Ditto PET Hangers and their patented Ditto Paper Hangers.
The PET plastic hangers are made from 100% polyethylene terephthalate (PET), which is the same plastic typically used to make plastic bottles. The line of environmentally friendly hangers are made entirely from PET, allowing for easy recycling through any curbside recycling program. This is a major change from the typical plastic hanger, that contains 7 different types of plastic and can't be effectively recycled.
The paper hangers are made from at least 70% post-consumer waste. These eco-friendly hangers are printed with vegetable inks and constructed with environmentally friendly starch adhesive. Most importantly, these hangers are also completely recyclable.
The good news is that Ditto Hangers will help reduce the endless stream of plastic and wire hangers that currently clog the landfills. The bad news is that these eco-friendly hangers aren't sold to the public, so we'll have to make do with getting them from stores, drycleaners, etc.
