Panasonic Enters Green Building With Eco-Friendly E Floor

Panasonic isn't' quite the name that comes to mind when you think about green building supplies. However, their new eco-friendly E Floor may just change that stereotype, as Panasonic enters the green building arena.

E Floor, dubbed a "hard chip board", is an environmentally friendly flooring made entirely from scrap wood. The recycled wood chips are combined using a special adhesive and then hot-pressed to form the flooring.

Although not entirely new to market, the eco-friendly floor was well-received at Eco-Products 2008, held in Tokyo last month. In fact, the eco-friendly flooring received the Chairperson's Award for Eco-Products this year.

The environmentally friendly flooring is just one eco-initiative from Panasonic. According to Sustainable Life Media, Panasonic has also pledged to bring 20 new green products to market by 2010, as well as implement a number of new environmentally friendly policies and initiatives. The green building industry may have a new contender.
